STAR's mission is to prevent sexual trauma and provide comprehensive, collaborative crisis intervention, advocacy, and support to victims/survivors, their families, and our communities.

Since 1978, STAR has been responding to the needs of survivors of sexual assault, while integrating prevention and education programs with a goal of reducing harm to all Alaskans.

STAR provides these services at no cost to survivors:

Crisis Intervention & Response
Advocacy
Medical & Court Accompaniment
Information & Referrals
Counseling
Support Groups
Case Management
Ongoing Support

STAR's Prevention & Education team is working toward ending sexual assault and abuse in Alaska through these programs:

Youth Education Presentations for Children, Teens & University Students
Adult Education & Professional Training for Caregivers of Children
Workplace Presentations - Bystander Intervention, Sexual Harassment Prevention
Educational & Informational Booths at Events, Health Fairs, etc.
